  4. Welcome to Tile Match! The following screens will introduce you to the
  5. basics of the game. For full details please read the documentation file
  6. MATCH.DOC.

  9. The basic object of the game is to find matching pairs of tiles from
  10. the set of tiles displayed face down on the playing board. There are
  11. many game options that control scoring, level of difficulty and number
  12. of players.

  14. !FKeyboard Shortcuts
  15. The quickest way to access the menus with the keyboard is by using the
  16. ALT key. Hold it down while pressing the letter that starts the menu
  17. item you want, i.e., ALT-H for the help menu. Some menu items can be
  18. accessed directly: ALT-N will start a new game, ALT-S enters the master
  19. setup menu.

  21. !JSingle Player Game
  22. You can play Tile Match solitaire. Use the Master Setup menu
  23. to adjust the level of difficulty and other playing options. You can also
  24. play a competitive game against a computer opponent with various skill
  25. levels; this is also selected in the Master Setup menu.

  27. !JMulti Player Game
  28. Tile Match can be played competitively by 2 to 4 players. The number of
  29. players desired and all other game rules can be selected from the Master
  30. Setup menu. Each player's score and cumulative time will be kept on the
  31. right side of the screen. To indicate who's turn it is, a red lamp will
  32. light next to that player's score/timer.

  34. !KMaster Setup Menu
  35. Tile Match has many options that adjust the scoring rules, level of
  36. difficulty, number of players, etc. All these options are set in the
  37. Master Setup menu. To select an option click on either the name of the
  38. option or the push button to the left. A depressed button indicates
  39. that the option has been turned on.

  41. !LFile Menu
  42. This item on the menu bar opens up a list of functions that can start
  43. a new game, load a saved game or save the current game, load a new
  44. set of playing tiles or a background picture.

  46. !LOptions Menu
  47. This item on the menu bar opens up a list of game options, including
  48. access to the Master Setup menu. Other options include changing the
  49. image on the back side of the playing tiles, and viewing or resetting
  50. the high score lists.
